Texas NOW is looking for a legislative liaison!

Full-time position for period spanning the 2007 Texas legislative session.

Duties:

  • To implement strategies whereby organization is able to share information with legislators and educate them on the impact of specific legislation.
  • To organize and mobilize members in these efforts.
  • To work to build coalitions with those with common interest.
  • To identify and track priority legislation; prepare and present research; arrange face-to-face meetings with legislators and other government officials; 4) attend work sessions, hearing, and other meetings; and 5) testify at hearings and other duties as decided by the organization' s board.

The Legislative Liaison works under the direction of and reports to the State President and the board.
