Hunger Awareness Day
Today is Hunger Awareness Day. The Center for Public Policy Priorities reminds us that Texas has the highest rate of food insecurity in the nation.
Is this a woman's issue? You bet. Women are more likely to be poor and experience food insecurity. In the US, nearly 60% of all those in poverty are women. Older women are especially at risk.
You can do something about this! If you're low on resources yourself, you can donate food for free by going to The Hunger Site. If, like me, you are blessed with more abundance than you know what to do with, please consider donating.
